  • Rear engine deck packed with tow cables, track, storage cases, water canisters, jack, MG ammo box, covered with netting. Net came from Verlinden after-market accessories, it was soaked in Elmers Glue + Water, hetz koedpaint washed with Forest Green (thinned solution allowed cloth to rapidly absorb paint color), dry to shape on top of hull.

  • Rollover : Close-up of tactical markings show Balkenkreuz (Balkan Cross of German national insignia) on left. On right, stylized-F with oakleaves for 10th SS Panzer Division Frundsburg, T-Oval insignia is tactical symbol for tracked anti-tank vehicle.

  • 10th SS Panzer Division Frundsburg and 9th SS Panzer Division Hohenstaufen were considered sister divisions since both were formed from the same region and timeframe. Although both divisions were severely mauled during the Summer 1944 Normandy battles, they successfully repelled Allied operations in Arnhem-Netherlands in Sept. 1944. Western Allies distinguished these two Waffen-SS divisions as being chivalrous (British veterans used the term Punctilious Correctness) in combat with no attributed atrocities as compared to other Waffen-SS divisions. 9th SS Panzer Division Hohenstaufen - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/9th_SS_Panzer_Division_Hohenstaufen

  • Inset : Looking worse for wear, Hetzer knocked-out in open terrain. Crew attempted to withdraw after being hit, but enemy round probably cracked track linkages, hence spilled the tracks in front of drive sprocket. Internal fuel and munitions exploded up through roof and engine rear.
